Our government has not ordered a hike in electricity rates, former CM Bommai clarified
Electricity rates have not increased in our time. Former Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said that the power tariff hike was ordered by the Congress government itself.
Even though KERC, a statutory body, proposed an increase in March, we did not agree. We have not ordered any increase in electricity tariff. The Congress has increased the electricity rates as soon as they came. He said that the price of electricity has increased due to his orders.
Electricity rates have been increased since April. It is very heavy. In the coming days, the electricity sector will face a lot of trouble. Transport and power sectors should be given money. It is not possible to give subsidy after one year. He said that subsidy should be given in advance.
Due to large number of people traveling in the bus, the public and the school children are also facing a lot of trouble. Thus, school children are traveling standing on the foot board of the bus. There was also a disaster in Hanagal taluk on Monday. Care should be taken so that this does not happen. The system should not deteriorate. He suggested that the safety of school children should be given priority.
We have already ordered that school children should be given school bus. We have also put money in the budget for this. Former CM Bommayi expressed concern that if the transport and power sectors are not properly funded and maintained, the transport will be disrupted and the power supply will stop.
